About Me

My photo
Helen Hoyle
I am a graduate of the University of Plymouth where I read Art History. For the subject of my final year dissertation, I decided to explore Laura Knight’s representations of women. She had lived and worked in Cornwall in the early part of the 20th century, and in my research I came across a number of other women artists working in the south west at around the same time. I decided to continue my investigations after graduating, to highlight their struggles and achievements, which in many cases have suffered from historical neglect.

I am also the editor of The Cornwall Artists Index, which is a very useful resource for historical research.

If you've enjoyed Women Artists in Cornwall, take a look at my ebook Dates in Women's Art.
